Language
The official language is Samoan, but English is widely spoken throughout the country.
Currency & Credit Cards
The official currency of Samoa is the Samoan tala (WST), supplemented by notes and coinage for local use. Major credit cards can be used at all shops, restaurants, bars and major resorts.

Tipping is not customary and not practiced.
Weather
Samoa enjoys a pleasantly warm and sunny climate all year round. June to August is the cooler months, whilst November to March marks the warmer season, with occasional tropical showers expected. The drier months, from April to November, have an average of about 30°C, whilst the warmer & humid season runs from December to March. During this season the temperature ranges between 30°C (min) and 32°C (max).
Electricity
The Electrical current in Samoa is 240 volts AC50z. It uses a 3-pin power outlet identical to the Australian power adaptor.
What to Wear
Light clothes are advisable because of the tropical climate. For women, light cotton dresses, slacks and shorts and pareos for the day and a long skirt or cool dress for evenings. Men are most comfortable in light weight slacks and shorts and open neck shirts. Sandals or light canvas shoes are adequate.
